Crochet the Birch Blanket

Inspiration

Birch Trees have been a longstanding favorite of mine. There is something so amazing and exciting about their bright white trunks with their striking black marks. Add in their gorgeous color changes to the Wisconsin landscape and it’s just a whole mood. You may not want to be in the car with me during Fall…I’m likely yelling “Look at all those gorgeous Birch Trees!!” one too many times. I’m rubbing off on my kids, because now they point them all out too. To get to create a crochet birch tree blanket was a really fun challenge for me. Even more exciting is that it came out just like I hoped it would when I pictured this in my head. I really hope to see lots of versions of this blanket. Give me all the color!

GET THE BIRCH BLANKET PATTERN

Due to the Stroll Tweed yarn from WeCrochet no longer carrying almost every color that was part of this fingering weight crochet blanket, I have revised this blanket to a Worsted Weight version, using Premier Yarns. The new version uses a color changing yarn for the trunks. While the trunks may not be a traditional black and white version, the new worsted weight version is a wonderful take on a Birch trunk and I think you'll have a lot of fun with it. Check out the new blog post HERE for the revised version. I think you're gonna love it!

If I ever come across a color chaning yarn that is only in black and white, or black, white and gray, I will be sure to leave an update. For now, the fingering weight version will be discontinued.
