Meet Me at the Cabin - Knit Log Cabin Blanket

Meet Me at the Cabin - Knit Log Cabin Blanket

Meet Me at the Cabin is a FREE knit blanket pattern. This blanket combines the classic log cabin style blanket with color changing yarn. Not only is this a fantastic all levels knitting pattern (you're only going to use the knit stitch!), but the color changing yarn never leaves you bored! Every square knits up differently from the next. Finally, add in a little rotation to every square during your layout and you have loads of visual interest. A great, relaxing project!

For squares that use ONLY Colors A and B (make 4)
Main Square: Color A
Section 1: Color B
Section 2: Color A
Section 3: Color B
Section 4: Color A
Section 5: Color A
Section 6: Color B
Section 7: Color A
Section 8: Color B

Note about squares that only use Colors A and B and about square placement during assembly: I place one of these squares in each corner of my blanket when assembling. All squares that use Color C for the main square are placed randomly when assembling. I suggest making all the blocks first and then doing a trial layout before you assemble.

A S S E M B L Y

In addition, I chose to rotate each block to give additional visual interest when I was assembling this blanket. You can choose any layout that you enjoy. Because I know people will ask, I used my Section 1 piece as my guide for rotation. You can follow
the chart below to see how I laid out my blanket.  When it’s time to start piecing these together you can use whichever seaming method you prefer. I found a simple crochet slip stitch seaming with a slightly smaller crochet hook than your needle size, to be a really good method, but if you don’t crochet, I would suggest any hand sewn seaming method that you are comfortable with. Make sure your right sides are together as you join your squares. You can use any of the leftover balls of yarn to seam squares together.
