Inspiration
The Hyacinth Blanket uses single crochet stitches that feel delicate and feminine. The columns of vertical texture remind me of the Hyacinth flower. This blanket uses a simple one row repeat that's great for beginners and experienced crocheters, alike. You'll love how quickly this blanket comes together and the constant color changes never leave you bored.
Gauge: In a 4x4 inch swatch (10cm x 10cm) you'll have approximately 6.5 v-stitch clusters wide and 13 rows in height.
Final Dimensions: Approximately 45 in x 52 in (114 cm x 132 cm)
Supplies Needed:
- Crochet Hook - 5mm/H hook - I use Furls Hooks exclusively. They bring me joy and physical comfort. I, personally, no longer experience any hand or wrist pain since switching to Furls!
-
Yarn - Lion Brand Scarfie Lite or any worsted weight yarn. DK weight yarn would also work just fine for this blanket.
-
- 6 balls of “Tiger Lily” Scarfie Lite or 2,034 yds/1,860 m (20.4 oz/578 g)
-
Scissors
- Tapestry Needle (for weaving in ends)
This pattern assumes that you are familiar with the follow stitch abbreviations:
- Ch - Chain
- Ch-2 sp - Chain 2 space
- Sc - Single Crochet
- Sc2tog - Single Crochet two stitches together
- Sk - Skip
- Sts - Stitches

Adjusting the Size of this crochet blanket:
Your stitch repeat is in multiples of 3 stitches. The finished width of this blanket is approximately 45 inches (114 cm) with a starting chain of 216. If you divide 213 (this is the starting chain minus the 3 extra stitches needed) by 45, that equals 4.8 stitches per inch.
If you wanted a blanket that is larger, like 50 inches, you would multiply 4.8 by 50. This equals 240. 240 is divisible by 3, so your starting chain will be 240 chain stitches.
If you wanted a blanket that is smaller, like 35 inches, you would do those same steps. 35 x 4.8 = 168. 168 is divisible by 3, so your starting chain will be 168 chain stitches.
Follow those same steps for any width you would like to make your blanket. You can then make your blanket as long as you would like to, according to the width you have chosen. Please note that changing the size of the blanket will change the amount of yarn you will need. I have included yarn totals only for the size that this pattern was written for.
