Inspiration

When I came across this crochet stitch, the first thing I thought was “Seashells!” (which is why my daughter is loving it, of course). The Oregon Coast has a special place in my heart and these little shells reminded me of walking along the beach, shell collecting.

Sizes

One Size - Fits child through adult (21 - 22 inches/53-55cm). Hat will be 8 inches wide (20 cm) by 9 1/2 inches tall (24cm)

Supplies Needed

  • Crochet Hook: 5.5mm /I hook for the body. 5mm/H for brim (or you could use a G hook for a tighter brim ). I love using Furls Hooks. They are so comfortable and I don’t get stressed hands or wrists like I once did.
  • Yarn: Lion Brand Ferris Wheel Yarn (or any light worsted weight yarn) – 171 yards (156 meters). I used the color “Morning Java.”
