The Knit Blackgum Beanie works up super fast since you will be using a Super Bulky weight yarn. I will be giving you the pattern instructions for the Small/Average size adult head (21-22″). The PDF pattern gives access to sizes baby through large adult.

Supplies Needed
Needles: US 11/8mm 16" circular needles for the brim and US 13/9mm 16" circular needles for the body. US 13/9mm dpns for decrease (or magic loop method).
Yarn: Super Bulky/Weight 6
Stitch Abbreviations
K – knit
P – purl
SSK – slip, slip, knit
P2TG – purl 2 together
SM – stitch marker
DPNs – double point needles
Gauge: With US 13/9mm in a 2x2in swatch = 5sts/7rows
Pattern
With a size US 11/8mm, cast on 54 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist your stitches. *K2, P2, K3, P2* for 7 rows.
Switch to size US 13/9mm needles
Row 1: *K2, P2, K1, P1, K1, P2* repeat around
Row 2: *K2, P3, K1, P3* repeat around
Row 3: *K2, P2, K1, P1, K1, P2* repeat around
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until your hat reaches 8 inches, ending with a Row 2 repeat.
Decrease
Switch to your dpns when needed or use magic loop method.
Row 1: *K2, P1, P2tog x3* repeat around
Row 2: *ssk, P2togx2* repeat around
Row 3: *P2tog, P* repeat around
Pull tail through remaining stitches. Fasten off. That's it! You've knit the Blackgum Beanie!
