The Jackie set is a wonderful, beginner friendly project. This cowl only uses knit and purl stitches to create a knit seed stitch texture. It's great project for beginners through experienced knitters who just want a quick and mindless pattern. It’s also a perfect pattern for on-the-go knitting or night time TV binging.
The day my daughter and I went out to take photos of this set became the same day that we suddenly lost our sweet 16-month-old kittie, Jack. Jackers. Jackie Girl. Miss Jack-a-lack. We don't have definitive answers, but all of her symptoms matched the worst stage of intestinal lymphoma. This is typically seen in elderly cats, but does show it's ugly face in young cats from time to time. Jack was my daughter's best friend. I saw my poor 11-year-old daughter's heart be completely ripped apart that night. She and I thought we should dedicate this set to her; the best girl we ever had.
Construction: Knit in the round
Needle Sizes: US 11/8mm 16" circular needles for the brim and US 13/9mm 16" circular needles for the body. You will also need to either use straight needles or the magic loop method for the decrease section.
Sizes & Yarn Needed: Infant through Large Adult sizes (16 - 23 in/41 - 58 cm)
Brim: Least amount of yarn needed for smallest size is 7.5 yards/7 m (0.4 oz/11 g) with the most being 21 yards/19 m (1.2 oz/34 g) for the largest size. All yardage specific to each size is listed in the pattern.
Body: Least amount of yarn needed for smallest size is 27 yards/25m (1.6 oz/45 g) with the most being 60 yards/55 m (3.5 oz/99 g) for the largest size. All yardage specific to each size is listed in the pattern.
Yarn: Super Bulky weight yarn
