The Village Square Blanket

The Village Square Blanket

The crochet Village Square Blanket is made by creating small diagonal tiles using the corner-to-corner double crochet block technique. Read on to learn about the entire Hooked on Quilts Collection!

Inspiration

In 2023, WeCrochet reached out and asked me if I would like to collaborate and design five quilt-inspired crochet blankets for 2024. I excitedly jumped at the opportunity! In Wisconsin we see a lot of homes and barns with large wooden quilt squares adorning their exterior. The inspiration for the Village Square lap quilt came directly from a wooden barn quilt from Abby Lyke Hicks also known as Tweetle Dee Design Co on Instagram. She makes beautiful wooden barn squares! To add an extra twist or texture, this pattern uses stitched-together C2C blocks with images of houses, trees, and a traditional quilt star. Check out Abby's Village Square Barn Quilt below.

Supplies Needed

  • Crochet Hook: H-8 (5 mm)
